The Mellow Bunny: Personality Post No. 4

Bunnies are some of the most personable pets out there. In this blog post series, we're going to explore the four main types of bunny personalities and how they compare. Let us know in the comments which personality your bunbun fits best!

Our past bunny Benji (pictured above) is our personal mellow bunny. Let's take a look at some of his characteristics!

No. 1 - Calm, Cool, and Collected Benji was never scared by anything. Loud noises, little kids, nail trims, you name it. This is a huge part of the mellow bunny's personality - they don't scare easily and are more of the go-with-the-flow type.

No. 2 - A Little Blonde Mellow bunnies are a bit goofy. They've got that chilled out attitude, so when they do finally get scared or surprised by something, watching them perk their ears up and zoom across the room is hilarious. Benji definitely had his 'duh' moments - occasionally running into very obvious bedroom walls, banging straight into me while I'm cleaning his cage, or just now deciding to be scared of the broom I've cleaned up with for 2 years.

No. 3 - Not Too Food Motivated

Most bunnies go crazy for treats. They smell it, they see it, they want it. Mellow bunnies enjoy treats, but won't necessarily do tricks for them or nibble your shoes until you hand it over. Benji was especially this way - I never did get him to sit pretty for a treat! He would just look at me with a 'do you really expect me to do this' look. I always ended up feeding him the treat without the trick, of course. Overall, the mellow bunny is a very sweet bunny to have - calm, good with kids, and a little bit silly. Does your bunbun fit this personality? Let us know in the comments!
